CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Seth Wescott will receive a hero’s welcome when he returns to his home at Sugarloaf in Carrabassett Valley, ME on March 6, following his thrilling come from behind victory in the Vancouver Olympics. The homecoming celebration will kick off the “VISA Seth Wescott Ride With Me Tour,” which will see Wescott travelling across the nation to celebrate his Olympic victory and to share his passion for the sport of snowboarding.
The homecoming celebration will be Wescott’s first public appearance following the Olympics, and will give fans a chance to meet Seth in person and hear him speak about his Olympic experience.
The festivities will begin at 1pm on the Beach, when Sugarloaf General Manager John Diller, Norway Savings Bank President Bob Harman, and Maine Governor John Baldacci will offer their congratulations to Seth.
“The entire Sugarloaf community and State of Maine are so proud of Seth and everything he has achieved, and we really want this homecoming ceremony to be something special,” Diller said. “I think a lot of people are truly excited to see Seth and to meet him in person, and we just can’t wait to welcome him back home to Sugarloaf.”
“Seth Wescott is such an accomplished, inspiring athlete and role model,” said Harmon. “The Norway Savings Bank family is so proud of Seth and we are absolutely thrilled to welcome him back to Maine and congratulate him on his Olympic achievement.”
Seth will make a special entrance to the ceremony, where he will address the crowd and speak about his Olympic experience. Following the ceremony there will be an autograph signing in the Base Lodge, featuring special commemorative posters designed specifically for the event.
The autograph signing will be followed by a special “Toast to Seth” in the Widowmaker Lounge at 4:30pm.

Welcome to the newest part of The Northeast Ski Zone. We hope to bring updated authoritative information about the world of skiing, Snowboarding and mountain life. The upcoming 2008 / 2009 season is just around the corner. Sunday River in Bathel ME was the first to open the 07 / 08 season in New England. Halloween was the day, but SR had to close afterwards and reopened a couple weekends before there official opening date.
