Kids Skis

If your children are lucky enough to learn how to ski we recommend looking at name brand gear. The idea of handing down ski equipment to children is OK, but if its more than 3 or 4 seasons old its suggested you stay away from it.
Ski equipment is always evolving and gets out of date quickly. Some ski shops will refuse to work on skis after they get to a certain age. Bindings wear, Ski Boot toes and heals wear then stop engaging properly with bindings and tend to become unsafe.
It is a good idea if you have ski kids at different ages that you prepare to hand down gear after a year or two then look at new gear for the oldest child. If you do this each skiing kid will be safe and have a great experience. That's what it's all about right? Being safe and having fun in the mountains.
Look for everything you would look for in a adult ski. A nice shape and a good binding from a name brand manufacturer.
To many families learning to ski figure they will only ski 20 or so days a year and scrimp on equipment. This is totally wrong way of approaching the sport. Ski equipment will make or break a child's experience and ever wanting to ski again. If a child is cold or in pain with the incorrect skiing gear the parents will be receive the direct release of emotions (Crying) which can ruin the most well planned ski vacation.
